What is LP Gas and how can you go green?
Liquid Propane is an Environmentally Friendly Fuel
- Liquid Propane is an approved, clean fuel listed in the 1990 Clean Air Act and the Energy Policy Act of 1992.
- Liquid Propane is one of the lightest, simplest hydrocarbons. Because of this LP Gas is one of the cleanest burning of all the fossil fuels.
- Liquid Propane gas is nontoxic, so it does not harm soil or water. Since liquid propane does not endanger the environment, the placement of liquid propane tanks either above or below ground is not regulated by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).
- Burning coal to generate electricity releases carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere. Coal emits more than twice the amount of carbon dioxide as does liquid propane.
- By using liquid propane gas instead of electricity, consumers can cut emissions and help preserve the environment
